On a side note from my boring post, (this is no exception), I'd like to briefly mention my ironic desire to listen to Pearl Jam while in Japan, particularly the '94 album Vitalogy. I really don't know why. It happened during my first visit in '06 and now it's back. Although most people are aware of their overrated colleagues, the Chili Peppers, I have yet to meet someone in Japan who's heard of them. The album was their first attempt to loose tagalong fans and dig into more experimental sounds, including the first few songs written by Vedder, thus more fist pumping straight guitar punk rock. anyway, let the ocean dissolve away my past.
i rub pearl jam! eeben frooooo, thoughts arribe rike butter fries...
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm trying to think back, but I don't ever really recall Japanese rocking the PJ. Chilly Willys, yes, Rancid, check, Nirvana, duh, heck, even QOTSA. But not the jam, the jam!
