Went to another a place called "Club Asia" in Shibuya to see Buffalo Daughter last Saturday.  Different from live houses, this place was an actual dance club, having a system that could really crank out a brown note, but they would only pull the trigger for about 20 seconds every half hour or so. and I mean it. brown note. look it up. And by the way, being a dance club, it was an overnight deal, Buffalo Daughter claiming the primetime 2-3am spot.

My (short) history of listening to Buffalo Daughter is what made the show special, other than the amazing sound system.  After graduating from a university last year and failing my mild attempt of attaining a job in japan, I retreated to working at an airport for 4 months.  During those months I spent hours researching and studying bands, BD being one of those that I found.  Back then, LastFM was still free, making things easier.  Ended up owning all the proper releases and really developing a taste for the band.  In quick, they're a little more electronic and experimental than Cibo Matto, a slight blues influence, but not a whole lot different.  During those dreaming months of labor, I visioned right now, (last week) when I saw them live.  Deja Vu I supuse (rhyming).

In a funny way, the night worked out perfectly. Going in, I had 200 yen, not near enough to even get me home in the morning.  The girl I was with (who had enough $ to get home, but no extra) found a bartender that delivered drinks without accepting a ticket or money, (free), so we downed 3-4 on the house throughout the night. Afterwards, shared money, proceeded to  buy kid's priced train tickets, and walked as though we had business.

I read that the guitar player is in a duo known as the Metalchicks, but I'm still researching.
