The nearby Russian military base later claimed a failed submarine launched missile and should that be true, I'd love to see a video of it. Rockets do burst and spin out of control like pinwheels. Anyone whose played with those cheap 144 packs of bottle-rocket fireworks is well aware of that.
But the precision of the smoke trails on this picture just seemed way to perfect to be something that broke. And of course, what the hell is the big blue trail of smoke/light leading to? Why is it bent down towards the surface? And why does it seem to expand, then thin out again?
