MUSIC
-Is extremely boring here. Although, there are two genres here that have some sort of international significance: (is that the correct usage of the semi colon?) modern electronic and insanely crazy psychedelic rock. But don't get excited, nobody knows what you're talking about.
-98% of live shows in Japan are worthless. It cost roughly $20 to inhale a shit ton of second-hand smoke and stand motionless while watching a (very) amateur band (playing some sort of nu-metal).
-American music? We like The Beatles (Liverpool) and
Avril Lavigne (Canadian).
CULTURE
- Edo period culture is somewhat interesting. It still exist in many ways. But, more realistically, you'll experience a packed train in
complete silence.
- Marijuana, created by GOD himself(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), perhaps
the best (natural!) alternative to anti-depressant drugs, is treated
as heroin (in Asia). Just goes to show the true naive influence of "culture". Humans are much like dogs. Look in the mirror.
- If you as a foreigner don't initiate conversation, there's a 99%
chance there will never be one.
I'm not trying to crap on your farm. These are very true
statements. As a foreigner in any nation, (or prison), it's a great
chance to get to know your self.
For those who don't care, I'm gonna try to live here at least
another year. For now my only opportunity in the U.S. is a
manager at the local McDonald's, (which wouldn't happen right away). I live and breathe music. That unfortunately pays zip.
