Kids and Language
While putting a new skateboard together today at the nearest shop a few towns over, two brothers around 3 and 4 stood right next to me and chatted it up. I guess their dad skates or something. I knew about the 7-year old age limit on learning a new language but never experienced it first hand. The 4-year old at one point says "sank-you", the Japanese pronunciation of 'thank you'. I hear it and say it in the English pronunciation. They both giggle. Then repeat flawlessly! Something that never happens at the high school I work at. Amazing. Teach you're kids a new language before age 7. Otherwise it's "sank-you".
